That is why it is worth giving up smoking
The full results of the research, published in the journal Internal and Emergency Medicine, followed the positive changes shown in the three- and six-month reports. The observed improvements were sustained over the 12-month study period, supporting evidence that heated tobacco products may be a less harmful* alternative for those who would otherwise continue to smoke.

biomarkers are getting better after giving up smoking
Dr David O’Reilly, BAT’s Director of Scientific Research, said:
“The results of the study are the most important data so far for the category of heated tobacco products. This research, carried out under real-life conditions, allows us to examine the changes experienced by adult smokers who switch to exclusively heated tobacco products, based on indicator values indicating the potential development of certain diseases. The research ensures the necessary new evidence to demonstrate the extent of change and the lasting effects of switching to heated tobacco products will further strengthen the potential of heated tobacco products as a less harmful product*.”
