U.S. retail sales increased by 7.6 percent on an annual basis

In April, U.S. retail sales increased in a slower-than-expected 0.5 percent. Analysts forecasted a 0.6 percent growth.

According to the datas of the trade ministry; U.S. retail sales in April continued to increase – primarily because of the rising fuel prices. On a monthly basis, turnover increased by 0.5 percent (on an annual basis by 7.6 percent) to 389.4 billion USD, which is slightly less than the analysts' expectations – reports portfolio.hu.
