US online retail had a record-breaking holiday season
Retailers reached a record 91.7 USD billion in online sales over the holidays, which is a 11 percent increase, compared to last year.
Mobile devices reached 28.4 billion USD revenues, an increase of 23 percent over the same period of the previous year. The majority of that value came from smartphones, which generated 19.3 billion USD in revenue.
The holiday shopping season lasted 61 days in November and in December. Onluine retail turnover was over 1 billion USD on 57 days. That Black Friday and Cyber Monday also broke records. (portfolio.hu)
