Risky poultry import poses a food safety risk
The free-trade agreement between the European Union and the South American MERCOSUR countries could not be established until the recent Brazilian meat scandal was investigated by the authorities – Erdős Norbert, MEP said.
Erdős Norbert also wrote a number of written questions to the European Commission. According to the Poultry Product Council (BTT), the import of South American poultry meat products pose a food safety risk should be countered, as imports threaten both the EU poultry sector and consumers.
