Waberer’s started the year strong
The sales revenue of Waberer’s International rose by 11 percent to 176.4 million euros, and its earnings before interest and taxes (EBIT) rose by 146 percent to 11.2 million euros in the first three months of the year compared to the same period of the previous year, according to the Budapest Stock Exchange (BÉT ) from the financial report and announcement published on its website on Monday.
The increase in the group’s profit was mainly due to the performance of the international freight and insurance segments, as well as the more favorable energy costs, they said.
The sales revenue of the international transport segment (ITS) increased by 16.9 percent, that of the regional contract logistics segment (RCL) by 3.6 percent, and the insurance segment by 1.4 percent.
The financial result showed a profit of 600 thousand euros in the first quarter after a loss of 2 million euros in the same period of the previous year. In the first three months of the year, due to the strengthening of the HUF, the company recorded an unrealized financial profit of EUR 2.2 million.
Regular net profit increased to 10.4 million euros in the first quarter of 2023, an improvement of 8.7 million euros compared to last year’s base.
