The report identifies three trends that will shape the next ten years in workforce management: redefining organisational culture with AI, prioritising the division of work into tasks, and putting skills first (skills-first approach).

Redefining organisational culture with AI

1. Rewriting workplace culture: most companies now recognise the benefits of ethical AI use, yet relatively few use it to personalise the employee experience (41%, HU: 24%) or to identify employees with specific skills and internal mobility potential.

2. Satisfaction and commitment: AI not only makes work more efficient, but also more enjoyable: 8 out of 10 employees who use AI feel more creative and satisfied – at least according to Microsoft and LinkedIn. The majority (65%, HU: 70%) consider workplace innovation to be crucial.

3. Accelerated career development: technology is continuously democratising learning, making personalised development plans and internal career paths available to everyone. Globally, more than half of executives (HU: 38%) plan to increase their company’s training budget.

4. Involving neurodivergent talent: neurodivergent employees with autism, ADHD or dyslexia often possess valuable skills, yet they are frequently excluded from a market that is otherwise struggling with a constant labour shortage.

According to Gartner, by 2027 one‑fifth of Fortune 500 companies will be recruiting neurodivergent talenti

Prioritising the division of work into tasks

5. Tasks instead of positions: between 2009 and 2024 the proportion of project-based workers increased from 12% to 22%, and 87% of managers (HU: 92%) now consider the rapid adaptability and agility of employees to be of primary importance. AI enables companies to assign the right resources to tasks.

6. Flexible working models: structural labour shortages are already causing serious business problems for 3 out of 10 companies globally and 1 out of 10 companies domestically. As most companies expect the situation to deteriorate further, it is common to increase the proportion of flexible working solutions.

7. Rethinking value creation: AI not only automates tasks, but also increases the potential for individual contribution through human factors such as collaboration, critical thinking, and learning potential.

Entering the age of skills-first

8. Addressing the leadership gap: while PwC data shows that 45% of CEOs believe their companies could become unsustainable within 10 years without a change of direction, only 36% of companies (HU: 24%) offer targeted leadership training.

9. Skills-based transformation: the AI revolution has made it clear that a skills-based approach is no longer a matter of choice, but a key to survival. It is understandable that by 2025 83% of companies (HU: 90%) have already introduced or are in the process of introducing skills-based operations.

10. The role of internal talent markets: 8 out of 10 companies (86% in Hungary) now consider the development of their existing workforce to be more important than external recruitment, and 59% (HU: 80%) are increasing their investment in internal mobility.
