Analysts: the start of summer jobs in June also helped employment

The Hungarian labor market is close to full employment, and there is hardly any further opportunity to increase employment. With the start of summer work, seasonal effects also appear strongly in June’s data – analysts told MTI, commenting on the latest labor market data from the National Statistics Office.

Hungary is very close to full employment

According to data presented by the Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Thursday, the average number of employed persons aged 15-74 in June was 4 million 739 thousand, 53 thousand more than in the previous month. In the three-month period from April to June, the average number of employees was 4,693,000, which is an increase of 74,000 compared to the second quarter of last year. The number of unemployed people was 160,000 in June, while the unemployment rate was 3.3 percent. (MTI)
