Retail sales doubled with the Baltic countries
Compared to 2010, retail sales doubled between Hungary and Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania. The foreign trade turnover increased by 9 percent last year – Szijjártó Péter foreign economic and foreign minister said on Wednesday in Budapest, at his closing speech at the end of the Hungarian-Baltic Business Forum.
He added that in order to have closer economic relations, the Eximbank provides a credit line of 370 million euros to facilitate the cooperation between the Latvian, Lithuanian, Estonian and Hungarian companies in the program. The Minister emphasized that to maintain the Schengen area is essential to all four countries, because these countries have open economies. He noted that the four countries always emphasized the importance of protecting the external borders. (MTI)
