Consumers could prepare for a serious price explosion in the pork market, as the fluctuating year of 2021 has led to such an increase in producers’ costs that they will be forced to apply them in stores in the first months of 2022. Although the correction started at the end of last year, it will certainly last for half a year, so during this period the prices on the shelf will also increase – agrarszektor.hu wrote.
The brutal increase in feed prices could not be swallowed up by pig farmers at the end of 2021, their cost prices increased significantly, and in the first months of 2022 they will be forced to increase prices that will be seen in store prices as well, Éder Tamás, president of the Hungarian Meat Industry Association said.
