Lower level of concentration, private label sales diminished
According to the Nielsen Retail Index, the share of stores larger than 400 m² from wiener volume sales decreased by 3 percentage points in the first half of the year. This still means a robust 72 percent market share. Turnover surpassed HUF 12 billion and 12,000 tons. Volume weighted average price was HUF 1,127 – up from HUF 1,104 a year before. Private label wiener sales were 11 percent lower than in the same period a year earlier. 79 percent of wiener was sold in self-service. As for packaging units, the 1,000-g version was the most popular in terms of both value and volume.
