Kométa’s sales increased by almost a third last year
Kaposvár-based Kométa increased its consolidated net sales by almost 30 percent to HUF 75.4 billion in 2022, the Italian family-owned meat processor announced in its annual report published on the BÉT website.
The profit after tax decreased slightly, from HUF 1.341 billion in 2021 to HUF 1.313 billion.
Earnings before interest payments, taxes and amortization (EBIDTA) fell from HUF 3.177 billion to HUF 2.872 billion.
The sales volume decreased to 73 thousand tons from 77.1 thousand tons in 2021. The proportion of domestic sales was 61 percent, after 58 percent the previous year. The annual domestic sales volume increased by 4 percent, and the sales revenue by 25 percent.
Kométa, which has a slaughter capacity of 800,000, processed 577,000 pigs last year, after 616,000 in 2021, which is about 9 percent of the total slaughterhouse capacity in Hungary.
