Coca-Cola is one of the most sustainable companies
This is the fourth time that we have been featured in the ranking, each time improving our position, from 78th in 2011, 43rd in 2014 and 26th in 2015 to 13th today. The index, which is now in its 12th year, is widely followed and companies named to the Global 100 are among the top overall sustainability performers in their respective industries.
“This is a great achievement for Coca-Cola Enterprises to be acknowledged as one of the most sustainable companies in the world” said our Chairman and CEO, John Brock.
“We are really proud to have consistenly improved our position in the Global 100 every year. This is a great recognition of how determined we are to fully embedding sustainability into our core business and into every decision we make.”
We have the best ranking among the four other food and beverage companies listed; Diageo (#26), Unilever (#47), General Mills Inc (#69) and Nestlé SA (#89).
The Global 100 is determined using twelve quantitative sustainability indicators, including the amount of revenue companies generate per unit of energy consumed and lost-time injury rate. Only data that is publicly disclosed – in annual reports, corporate sustainability reports or through other channels – can be used in the Global 100.
