Co-op reveals biggest Easter grocery trends
New research from Central England Co-op has revealed the shopping habits of customers ahead of this year’s Easter celebrations.
Sales show that chocolate eggs, lamb and baked goods continue perform well, while traditional hot cross buns reign supreme – despite novelty flavours continuing to grow in popularity.
The data gathered from across the symbol group retailer’s 260 food stores showed – perhaps unsurprisingly – that hot cross buns sales grow in the lead up to Easter.
While sales of Easter eggs were strong, it was the miniature eggs that were the most popular with shoppers.
