Poultry stop due to the salmonella meat scandal
Due to the salmonella meat scandal, the European Union forbade to enter the EU market to 20 Brazilian meat processing companies – agrarszektor.hu wrote.
The measure will enter into force on the 15th day following its publication. Brazilian Minister of Agriculture Blairo Maggi welcomed the news with indignation. He talked about a commercial war and announced that he was addressing the World Trade Organization (WTO). He argues that the Union merely refers to food hygiene because it wants to squeeze Brazil’s meat from its market. (agrarszektor.hu, Gönczi Krisztina)
