Barilla launches 100-percent sustainable wheat biscuit
In April Italian food company Barilla launched a range of biscuits made entirely of sustainable wheat. As part of the Buongrano line of Mulino Bianco, the biscuits are made in the company’s largest biscuit factory near Mantua. This year Barilla intends to extend the use of sustainable wheat to the manufacturing of more products, in accordance with the Carta Del Mulino – this is an agricultural regulation drawn up by Barilla, with the support of the WWF, the University of Bologna and the University of Tuscia. Around 500 farms have signed the regulation so far.
