One fifth of the annual turnover is realized in the summer on the toy market
Hungarian families typically buy beach toys for HUF 2-5,000 in the summer, the best sellers being water pistols, inflatables and sandbox toys – according to recent research by REGIO JÁTÉK. At the toy retailer, nearly a fifth of its annual turnover is realized in the summer, thanks to, for example, the swimming pools, which it sold last season for more than HUF 3.5 billion. 8 out of 10 families with small children are planning a vacation this year, mostly with domestic destinations.
Families with small children typically spend HUF 2-5 thousand on new beach toys this year, water pistols, inflatables, and sandbox toys really drive the toy market in summer based on this year’s survey by REGIO JÁTÉK. “Every year, parents buy more and more toys in the summer, which is why last year we waited for the heatwave with a much larger stock of goods. This year, we are also prepared for the high level of interest that will last roughly until the middle of August, which is why we estimate that almost a fifth of our annual turnover (approx. 18%) will be fulfilled this season with basket values of HUF 14,400 online and HUF 8,500 in stores,” said Dávid Gyaraki , marketing manager of REGIO JÁTÉK.
In addition to waterside games, many people are looking for outdoor games, sports equipment, balls, and for the hours spent in the shade, LEGO, board games and cards.
