The future of the food industry is in the hands of young people
Food safety and quality are of paramount importance not only for agriculture, but also for the economy and social well-being – stressed András Tállai, State Secretary for Food Economy and Agricultural Vocational Training at the Ministry of Agriculture, at the graduation ceremony of the Institute of Food Science and Technology of the Hungarian University of Agricultural and Life Sciences (MATE).
In his speech, the State Secretary highlighted that areas of the food industry, including the optimization of production processes, the application of new technologies and product development, are increasingly playing a role in sustainable farming. Climate change, precision agriculture and the development of food processing processes are areas where MATE graduates can play a decisive role.
András Tállai praised the cooperation between MATE and the National Food Chain Safety Office, which provided students with professional internship opportunities. He emphasized that the experience gained in the laboratories and fields of expertise of Nébih contributes to the future success of the newly graduated students.
He also drew attention to the importance of public interest careers, emphasizing that the knowledge of young professionals is also needed in regulatory and official work. Food safety and consumer protection are key issues in which precise and dedicated work plays a decisive role.
