Simplification of what has already been simplified
László Kovács, president of the Guild of Hungarian Restaurateurs (MVI) requested assistance in a letter on behalf of several trade organisations sent to László Könnyid, CEO of Hungarian Tourism Agency, regarding the difficulties that have arisen in connection with the changes to the simplified employment rules.

MVI proposes that just like in the case of commercial tourism services, the regulations on seasonal work in tourism should also apply to the hospitality sector. In the tourism and hospitality sector if there is simplified employment and a maximum working time of 12 hours, there should be no requirement to indicate allowances and consecutive days should be treated as one unit in payroll accounting. In the event of a simplified employee not showing up for work, the deadline for notifying the authorities should be changed to 12:00 of the given day.
