The effects of climate change are unquestionable
According to the monthly tracking research What Worries the World by Ipsos, only 10% of Hungarians were of the opinion in the last six months that climate change was one of the biggest problems – the global average was almost twice as big. Another Ipsos report, Effects of Climate Change came out in September – it was made with more than 23,000 participants in 34 countries – and this revealed that despite the low proportion mentioned above, on the European continent it is the people of Hungary (74%) and Turkey (74%) who can feel the effects of climate change the most. By now in 22 from 28 countries, the majority of the population reckon that the effects of climate change are really strong where they live.
As for the next 10-year period, in each country the majority of people think the situation will become considerably worse (this ratio is 86% in Hungary vs. the 71% global average). Ipsos has found that women and the better-educated layers of society are more sensitive to the problem of climate change. At a global level, every third person (35%) believes they might have to move to another region in 25 years – this ratio is 64% in Turkey and 32% in Hungary.//
