Auchan Hungary pays special attention to maintaining the health and well-being of its employees throughout the year, and dedicates October to health month. This month, in addition to education about proper nutrition and lifestyle, all 5,500 employees can participate in specific health screenings for free.

Health care has a prominent place in Auchan’s social responsibility. As you know, with the support of the Auchan Foundation, their strategic partner, the National Association of Hungarian Dietitians, has been running the GYERE Program for the second year in the elementary schools of 24 Hungarian towns where the chain is located. With this approx. 5,000 school children can learn the basics of proper nutrition from the curriculum compiled by experts. In addition, the Smart Plate Knowledge Test is also being launched this year for sixth and seventh grade students to compare their knowledge of healthy eating in a competition.

And in October, there is an even greater emphasis on employees. Introduced this year, You can count on us! as part of the program that supports employees in the challenges of everyday life, online workshops are held with experts, including dieticians. One of the highlighted topics of the month is proper workplace nutrition and stress management, where, among other things, employees receive useful advice on how to eat healthy even with a changing work schedule. And the workshop “Get the best out of stress” gives practical tips for dealing with stress at work. It presents methods of developing stress tolerance and the benefits of positive thinking.

In addition to education, all Auchan employees – which in their case – means nearly 5,500 people – can take part in a large laboratory test and have an EKG done free of charge thanks to the company. It is also possible for those who are recommended to change their eating habits to have their test results evaluated by specialists, and then ask for the help of a dietitian.
