The Ministry of Agriculture has initiated an extraordinary review of the conditions of poultry imports at the European Commission
Minister of Agriculture Nagy István wrote to the European Commission in order to reduce the negative effects of the Covid-19 pandemic on the poultry sector and to resolve the current situation. The Minister initiated an extraordinary review of the conditions of imports from third countries in a letter to Phil Hogan, the commission’s trade commissioner.
The Minister said: Hungary, like other EU member states, is struggling with the answers to the global health and economic crisis. As a result of the measures taken to curb the epidemic, the temporarily limited tourism, hospitality and catering (HORECA) sector required a rapid reorganization of agricultural sales from the sector, from the service sector to retail serving consumers.
