Chamber of Agriculture: there will be enough domestic fish for Christmas
Despite the unfavorable conditions, the fish yield of the pond farms has not decreased significantly, so there will be enough domestic fish for Christmas. Fish prices are expected to rise slightly from last year’s rise in feed prices, the National Chamber of Agriculture (NAK) told MTI on Friday.
According to their information, the largest fish species produced in Hungary is carp, of which nearly 12,000 tons of market-age fish were caught by pond fish farmers last year. The second most popular fish species is the African catfish, of which nearly 4,000 tons were produced in precision closed systems. (MTI)
