The price of red and head cabbage also increased

According to KSH data, Hungary’s head and red cabbage foreign trade balance was negative in 2023, when the delivered quantity reached 4.31 thousand tons, while 2.55 thousand tons went to foreign markets. In the first half of this year, imports increased by 9 percent to 3.83 thousand tons compared to the same period last year. Imports from Germany decreased by 3 percent to 2.01 thousand tons, and from Poland by 9 percent to 619.76 tons. At the same time, significantly more cabbages arrived from the Netherlands, 866.47 tons (compare: first half of 2023: 89.54 tons). Exports decreased by 2 percent, amounting to 2.10 thousand tons, a significant proportion of which was directed to the Scandinavian countries (Finland, Sweden), as well as to Romania, the Czech Republic and Austria.
