The price of eggs at the packing point is more than 50 percent higher than a year ago
According to the data of the AKI PÁIR, the packing point price of table eggs (M+L) from cage keeping in Hungary was HUF 59.03/piece in the first thirty-eight weeks of 2023, which was 52.4 percent higher than the average price for the same period of 2022.
Within this, the packing point price of boxed eggs of size class M increased by 52.2 percent to 61.1 forints/piece, and that of boxed eggs of size class L increased by 56.5 percent to 71.26 forints/piece. At the same time, the packing point price of M-tray eggs rose by 53.3 percent to HUF 54.73/piece, and that of L-tray eggs by 50.8 percent to HUF 59.45/piece. The packing point price of deep-laid table eggs (M+L) was HUF 66/piece in the first thirty-eight weeks of 2023, which was 54.5 percent higher than the average price of the same period in 2022.
