The German consumer confidence declined slightly
Contrary to expectations, according to the survey of GfK AG, no further increase occurred. The German consumer sentiment, stayed near on its more three year peak of December.
The January value of the German consumer confidence index decreased to, 5.4 points from the 5.5 points of December . The analysts expected 5.7 points.
The positive sentiment is driven by the increasing consumer willingness to purchase, which is related to the evolution of employment. In Germany, the unemployment rate in November decreased for the 17th month.
