NAV’s summer inspections
In the summer the National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) imposed fines as a result of 7,600 check-ups, one third of which revealed some kind of irregularity. NAV’s nationwide summer inspection period lasted from early July until the end of August. The tax authorities used risk analysis in selecting which businesses to visit. NAV’s report on the first half of 2016 also reveals that not only the summer period, but the whole first six months was successful. In the given period NAV inspectors uncovered 3,120 suspected crimes, 18.81 percent less than in the first half of 2015. 43.75 percent of cases belong to the category of budgetary fraud. The committed crimes represent a HUF 60.13-billion value, 12.34 percent less than in the base period.
