Due to the high level of interest, Green Pledge is extending its application deadline!
The application deadline for the Green Pledge has been extended until Monday, August 11. Now in its third year, the initiative rewards communication practices that place special emphasis on environmental and sustainability aspects during the planning and implementation of marketing communications.
Launched by the Hungarian Self-Regulatory Advertising Board (ÖRT), the Hungarian Marketing Association (MMSZ), and the Association of Hungarian Communication Agencies (MAKSZ), the Green Pledge enters its third year in 2025. The goal remains unchanged: to direct the attention of the domestic marketing and advertising industry even more toward environmental protection, appropriate representation of the environment, and the avoidance of greenwashing (misleading green claims).
A special feature of this year is that the Data-Driven Marketing Association (DIMSZ) and the Hungarian Public Relations Association (MPRSZ) have also joined as professional partners, making their members eligible to apply—further expanding the circle of applicants committed to responsible communication.
The Green Pledge certification may be awarded to organizations and companies that can demonstrate exemplary achievements in this field through case studies including photos and data.
Applications can be submitted via the website www.greenpledge.hu, where interested parties can find detailed information about the commitments and goals of the program.
Applications are welcome this year in the following six categories:
- green education,
- green ad production,
- green content,
- green advertising practices,
- green claims,
- and an open category.
Entries will be evaluated by an independent panel of more than 15 professionals. As in previous years, the jury will be chaired by Prof. Dr. Gyula Bándi, Deputy Commissioner for Fundamental Rights and the Ombudsman for Future Generations. The award ceremony will once again take place during the Marketing Summit Budapest 2025, the premier gathering of the Hungarian marketing and business community.
To date, nearly fifty large companies have supported the initiative. Thirteen of them—Alfa Vienna, Artificial Group, Henkel, K&H, Kia, Mastercard, Mediator, Neo Interactive, reNEW Technologies, SPAR, Uniomedia, Well PR, and Yettel—received the Green Pledge certificate at last year’s Marketing Summit held at the Palace of Arts (MÜPA), in recognition of their outstanding work in environmentally conscious advertising.
