On June 11, the HoReCa and Event section of the Hungarian Marketing Association held its current quarterly meeting at the METRO Gastro Academy, where the membership evaluated the results of the first semester and announced the program for the second semester, including the next professional event.

The purpose of the department, which has been operating for 4 years this year, is to provide professional and relational support for the marketing activities of businesses and organizations, to facilitate their activities, giving the professionals of the member organizations the opportunity to exchange information, share their experiences, and create synergies in order to jointly shape the future of the field, in the light of marketing aspects.

As the meeting opened, department head Krisztina Bódi summarized the first semester’s activities, and then the members jointly evaluated the department’s highlight event of the first semester, the joint first quarter event of the Hungarian Marketing Association with the Green Club, which was held in the spring as part of the program of the SIRHA Budapest 2024 exhibition, Green gastronomy – Marketing communication workshop.

The purpose of the meeting was also to plan and prepare the activities of the second semester. It was decided that the department will go around the current challenges of the HoReCa and Event sector in the framework of a workshop in November, for which marketing tools can be prepared and suitable answers can be given. Among the topics of the planned workshop will be the use of AI in the sector, the integration and cooperation of generations in the hospitality industry, as well as how the players in the sector can support labor recruitment and retention with branding and a strong employer brand. The role of communication and marketing in employer branding will be discussed in particular, as the members of the department agreed that we bridge the gap between generations with proper communication.
