The Hungarian Catering Industry Association welcomes the new action plan of the National Tourism Administration (NGM).

The promised changes aim to improve the situation of the sector

MVI considers the tax exemption of representation to a certain extent to be particularly positive, which, according to experience, can be one of the most powerful tools for stimulating turnover. More favorable taxation of corporate spending can bring a significant increase in demand, primarily for rural restaurants and the event market.

The reduction of the tourism development contribution from 4% to 2% also represents a serious relief, which directly reduces the burden on businesses and improves their operating conditions.

The Chamber of Commerce also welcomes the measure according to which, up to 20% of the sales revenue, wages paid similarly to the service charge do not require personal income tax and social contribution tax, only the 18.5% social security contribution. This measure simultaneously facilitates wage payments, reduces the burden on employers and contributes to the further whitening of the sector.

The Catering Smart Guide, which promises to be extremely useful and will be published in the near future, is expected to be a practical guide that will provide businesses with a crutch for operating in compliance with the law, provide assistance with company establishment and summarize the requirements that must be met during official inspections.

The Chamber of Commerce of Hungarian Catering Businesses is confident that the measures of the action plan will substantially support the recovery of the catering industry and the preservation of jobs in Hungary.
