Food waste is the biggest in the developed regions, in Europe, North America and South East Asia. Munch attempts to solve this complex problem: through the platform more than 750 restaurants, bakeries, confectioneries, hotels and shops sell the day’s unsold food with a 40-70% discount. Besides generating extra revenue, Munch partners also stand up for responsible hospitality.
The Munch index translates the environmental effect of producing the food saved by the given restaurant or shop into numbers, demonstrating how much greenhouse gas emission the place saved. This list was compiled based on results from Munch’s launch in July 2020, so those who joined later had a bit of a disadvantage. More information and partnership: Munch.hu //
