From cash and bank deposits, the investment market has definitely turned to gold, jewellery and art. The annual research of the BÁV assesses the intention to invest in works of art from several different directions and calculates a consolidated indicator from their index. The 2022 index has fallen from 40.1 last year to 37.6 this year, bringing it back to levels close to two years ago. The reasons may include rising inflation and economic and political uncertainty that is causing waiting, but several factors suggest that this is only a temporary halt.
