The ProWein success story continues in 2024

From 10-12 March 2024, more than 50,000 wine and spirits experts are expected to attend the ProWein trade fair in Düsseldorf. These professionals can be sure to discover here the world’s largest and most extensive range of wines and spirits. More than 5,700 exhibitors from over 60 countries have registered for the sector’s premier event.

ProWein continues the success story of its 30 years of existence. The fair started in 1994 with 321 exhibitors and 1,517 visitors in less than 2,300 square metres, in less than two exhibition halls. In 2024, it will once again prove its world-class importance with 71,000 square metres and 13 halls.

In addition to a consistent professional orientation, another secret of ProWein’s success is its insight into the future and its proactive development of event formats to meet market needs.

The 2023 ProWein was the first trade fair in Europe to feature a stand-alone “no-and-low” theme for non-alcoholic and low-alcoholic beverages. ProWein 2024 will build on the successful premiere: in a separate area in Hall 1, everything revolves around “no-and-low” under the slogan “ProWein Zero” – complete with a tasting zone by Meininger, the publisher of the ProWein.

The ProWein 2024 trade fair will also highlight the following topics and market trends:

  • One of the highlights of ProWein – now in its sixth year – is the “same but different” trend show specifically for up-and-coming restaurants and bars
  • Pavilion 5, with the slogan “ProSpirits”, is the new home of around 300 spirits producers and traders
  • The “urban gastronomy by #asktoni & ProWein” lounge in Hall 4 will once again welcome hospitality professionals – especially young urbanites from home and abroad – with a tailor-made presentation of the latest topics, led by experienced restaurateur and sommelier Toni Askitis
  • One of the key themes of the ProWein 2023 trade fair was the display of packaging alternatives to replace glass bottles, from bag-in-boxes to small stainless steel drums, recyclable aluminium cans and PET bottles. And this will be no different at ProWein 2024: both at the special “Packaging & Design” exhibition in Hall 9 and at the many exhibitors’ stands, this aspect will play an increasingly important role.
  • The Champagne Lounge in Hall 9 will be the focal point of the representative and diverse range of noble French sparkling wines presented at ProWein 2024
  • With around 300 international exhibitors, organic wines now have a permanent place at ProWein, but we should not forget the associated special show, “Organic World” in Hall 4.

Wine and spirits market experts can get an overview of the exhibitors’ activities and offerings, can read press releases and product brochures that will help them to prepare their own visit to the fair on the www.prowein.de website, which is already accessible.

Nearly 60 exhibitors will represent Hungary at the 2024 trade fair, including several returning wineries and distilleries and a number of companies for whom this will be a debut at ProWein. The central wine community stand in Pavilion 13 is organised by the Hungarian Wine Marketing Association, while the pálinka community stand in the new ProSpirit section is organised by the Pálinka National Council, with individual exhibitors grouped around it.

In 2024, Zwack Unicum Nyrt will be the first Hungarian exhibitor in the “same but different” section and will host the ProWein regional international press conference.

ProWein “Ticket to the World” events in Asia and South America are as successful at the trade fair in Düsseldorf. With three autumn and three spring events on offer, ProWine will also be held in Tokyo from 2024 on. All the trade fairs and the latest news on ProWine are available at www.prowein-world.com
