17 tonnes less plastic packaging in Lidl’s fruit and vegetable range
As part of its ongoing collaboration with suppliers, the store chain has now examined and redesigned the packaging of its fruit and vegetable range. In the case of Golden, Idared, Fuji, Gala and Jonagold, the previous plastic sorting inserts were replaced by eco-friendly paper trays, while in the case of 3 green hot peppers and Red Chief and Granny Smith, the 4-piece packaging was replaced, so the plastic was 100 percent removed from the packaging.
