Global food prices are on a 14-month peak
According to FAO, United Nations’ Food and Agriculture Organization; the global food prices – after a temporary decrease – once again began to increase, and reached a 14-month peak in November.
The FAO’s food price index – which records the monthly global price changes of on the basis of a consumer basket basket of specific groups of food – reached 168 points last month This is the highest indicator since September 2008. However, this value is still 21 percent below the record of June 2008 – reports MTI Eco.
