MNB: over the past half year, inflation has been around 3 percent
Over the past six months, inflation has fluctuated around 3 percent, and for a long period of time, there has been no example of this since the introduction of the central bank’s inflation target in 2007 – the head of the Hungarian National Bank (MNB) told M1 news channel on Wednesday.
Várhegyi Judit said that in January, consumer prices increased by 2.7 percent on average, compared to the same period of the previous year. This, in addition to stronger wage increases, means that the purchasing power of incomes is increasing – she stressed. (MTI)
