Waitrose food forecast for 2018
British supermarket chain Waitrose conducted a survey in 2017, according to which two thirds of shoppers visit grocery stores more than once a day, especially 18-24 year old consumers. Many people have a smaller, fourth meal every day – most often some kind of healthy snack in the afternoon or a light meal late in the evening.Consumers rarely cook 3-course meals at home these days. Waitrose found that more than half of shoppers are hunting for good prices: 53 percent of their customers purchased products in promotion. Shoppers are buying fewer products, but the basket value has been growing in the last five years. As for fast food restaurants, the study predicts the spreading of Indian and Japanese eateries in the United Kingdom in 2018. //
