CEOs around the world grapple with multiple simultaneous challenges, but remain optimistic about the three-year global economic outlook
Geopolitics and broader political uncertainty are currently the most serious risks to a company’s business success, according to the KPMG CEO Outlook 2023 survey of more than 1,300 CEOs of the world’s largest companies. This concern was not even among the top five risks in 2022.
At the same time, the long-lasting uncertainty and intertwined crises – the polycrisis – demand a new quality and level of resilience from the world’s company leaders, who continue to look to the future with a mission-driven and proactive approach for the sake of business growth – so they remained optimistic overall. When dealing with a situation that is more uncertain than ever before, the strategic priorities of company leaders remain the following: technology-digitalization-AI, the ESG framework and the triad of workforce talent.
The KPMG CEO Outlook traditionally provides unique insight into the mindset, strategies and planning tactics of CEOs. This year’s, now 9th, KPMG CEO Outlook survey was conducted between August 15 and September 15, 2023, with 1,325 CEOs interviewed.
