Generative AI models for meeting summaries, AI-based image recognition for radiology reports, real-time data analysis for predictive maintenance – just a few examples of the countless corporate application areas. Artificial Intelligence (AI) is now part of our daily lives and one of the fastest-growing fields globally. While more than 50,000 AI solutions exist worldwide, only 7.5% of Hungarian companies use them. To encourage best practices and facilitate knowledge sharing, Hungary’s first comprehensive corporate AI competition is launching.

It is difficult to say exactly how many AI tools are available worldwide; estimates vary by application area. A 2022 empirical study identified 56,682 AI tools in mobile apps alone. Even with conservative estimates, there are at least 50,000 AI solutions globally. While the number and quality of AI tools for corporate use is rapidly increasing, only 7.5% of Hungarian companies use them, compared to the EU average of 13.5%. Although the proportion of AI users in Hungary nearly doubled within a year, the country still ranks near the bottom of the EU, ahead of only three other member states – according to Eurostat data from 2023 and 2024. In finance, however, adoption is much higher: more than 70% of companies use AI in their financial processes, according to KPMG’s 2024 global survey.

This is why PPH Media launched the STRIX Award, Hungary’s first cross-sector AI competition, aiming to showcase and reward the best domestic AI solutions, while inspiring companies and organizations.

“With the STRIX Award, we have a dual goal: to identify and recognize the best Hungarian AI projects, and to show different segments of the economy how artificial intelligence can support workflows in many ways. We trust that compared to Eurostat’s 2024 data, Hungarian corporate AI adoption will be significantly higher by 2025 – and we hope the STRIX Award will play a catalyst role in this progress.”

– said Ágnes Vándor, Managing Director of PPH Media.

The competition is open to large companies, SMEs, and public sector organizations alike.
