The number of guest nights rose in the country side and fall in the capital

According to Central Statistics Office in 2007 the occupancy rate of hotel rooms was 58 percent. The gross room revenue of hotels increased by 2 percent at current prices compared to 2006.

 The number of guest nights was 9.321 million in 2007, up 1.6% yr/yr. The KSH observed the highest occupancy rate at Budapest's five-star hotels last year (69.6%) – their best month was October with an occupancy rate of 79.9% – and the lowest (45.8%) at Eastern Hungary's three-star hotels.
Number of tourism nights rose by 2 percent on the average, three-star hotels at Lake Balaton boosted their net room revenues by the most (13.6% yr/yr) in the whole of 2007. Gross average room rate (Gross ARR) was HUF 17,438 in the whole of 2007 and was the highest in the five-star hotels of the capital city (HUF 37,913) and the lowest in three-star hotels in Western Hungary (HUF 9,042). Net average room rate came to HUF 14,516 in 2007. The average revenue per available room (REVPAR) came to gross HUF 10,148 a day in 2007.
