Competition in food retailing
Although the rule was introduced in the protection of competition that food products can not be sold below the price that included in the purchase invoice, it has brought the restriction of competition with the fact that it has increased the level of prices – Marosi Zoltán, associate of the Oppenheim Law Firm quoted the competition problem at a conference in Budapest on Wednesday, that dealt with competition implemented in the food retail sector.
At the conference organized by the research center of the Faculty of Law of the Pázmány Péter Catholic University, the lecturer explained: the competition laws are sector free, but in many countries there are special rules for each sectors. Such sectors are media, telecommunications, energy industry and retail as well. (MTI)
