The service fee may end the era of tip
We expect that the salaries of employees to rise officially. Since the service fee is only paid to employees, it is not necessary to put a tip on it, and it may be even terminated if the proposal will be accepted – Várnai Zsuzsa, Managing Director of the Catering and Tourism Trade Union, told Magyar Nemzet about the proposal on the mandatory service charge.
The Association of Hungarian Hotels and Restaurants (MSZÉSZ) initiated the introduction of a mandatory service charge in the Hungarian catering shops, suggesting 8 to 15 percent mandatory service charge. According to the proposal, its allocation is determined jointly by the owner, the operator and the employees (Horváth Attila, mno.hu)
