A path to the green future of the food industry? He organized a workshop for FOUR government actors
The purpose of the “From Drought to Flood” event organized by NÉGYOSZ was to present and discuss the sustainability challenges of climate change and the food industry. The event was attended by more than 40 participants representing the government, relevant professional organizations and companies.
Many recognized professionals shared their knowledge. Dr. András Gelencsér, professor and air chemist at Pannon University, and Dr. Olga Beáta Felkai, deputy state secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture, gave a presentation on the challenges of our time. Zombor Berezvai, GVH’s leading economist, talked about the effects of climate change on food prices, while life cycle analyst Artúr Szilágyi talked about the environmental footprint of food. István Miskolczi, executive director of NÉGYOSZ, spoke about alternative proteins, food policy analyst Réka Szőllősi spoke about green communication, and food industry expert Barbara Lovasné Bíró spoke about the new nutritional recommendations.
The program ended with a workshop where the participants analyzed the feasibility of a sustainable food industry. The event emphasized that the development of sustainable and innovative solutions is essential for future generations. Supporting plant-based foods is not only an environmental issue, but a strategic step to increase the resilience of the economy. NÉGYOSZ intends to play a prominent role in the development of this strategy.
