Online Cash Registers may be introduced in the case of other service providers
The government is preparing further steps to fight against the black economy. Such steps will be the launch of the electronic billing system, as well as the introduction of the online cash registers at service providers, among others, at car services, taxis, cleaners, currency exchangers – Varga Mihály, Minister of National Economy said at the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Coop supermarket chain on Wednesday in Budapest.
The Minister also recalled that the online cash registers and the electronic road freight traffic control system (EKÁER) primarily protects the dealers. The impact of the measures can be detected in increasing tax revenues. In 2014 – according to EU data – the amount flowed from VAT increased by more than 300 billion HUF in the budget and at least half of it 180-190 billion HUF came from the use of the online cash registers – the Minister added.
