Bacteria causing salmonella infection have been detected in another chocolate factory in Belgium
Another Belgian chocolate factory has identified a bacterium that caused a salmonella infection at the Italian site of the Italian chocolate factory Ferrero, causing more than 300 disease cases across Europe, The BrusselsTimes news portal reported on Thursday.
At the Belgian-Swiss-owned Barry Callebaut plant in East Flanders, all chocolate products manufactured after 25 June were withdrawn from the market by the competent authorities.
The company discovered the salmonella bacterium in the factory-produced products on June 27th. (Andits Eszter, MTI)
