New CEO at METRO Hungary

As of April 1, 2024, Vladimir Gnjidić was appointed CEO of METRO Hungary, replacingThierry Guillon-Verne, who was appointed as CEO of METRO Austria in February.

Vladimir Gnjidic joined METRO in November 2011. He started in METRO Croatia gaining experience as the board member responsible for offer management, followed by commercial director role. In 2019 he moved to MAKRO Czech Republic holding various board positions within commercial area, most recently having responsibility for sales and operations.

METRO Hungary’s five-member Board of Directors now includes two international executives, as Marijana Racic took over duties of Chief Finance Officer as of March 1st, moving from METRO Serbia, where she held the same role. The Board of Directors of METRO Hungary also includes Beáta Kápolna, Director of Procurement, Helga Kaszás, Director of People and Culture, and Péter Tóth-Korom, Director of Sales and Operations.

With the arrival of the new executive managers, METRO Hungary is entering the next implementation phase of its wholesale transformation strategy. Store transformations focusing on gaining efficiency will soon be successfully completed. Building on these fundaments, the company will focus on further acceleration of meeting the needs of professional customers using the unique strength of its multi-channel services.
