New markets may open up for Hungarian poultry, according to the head of the product board
New markets may open up for Hungarian chicken and turkey farmers in Europe, so the sector needs to be developed from EU and state sources – the President and CEO of the Poultry Product Council said at Friday’s event at the Hungarian Turkey Association.
Csorbai Attila said that the intensive turkey farming in Western European countries could be reversed by 20 percent fewer turkeys per unit area for animal protection reasons. In Hungary, on the other hand, the output of the sector can be increased by the same amount in a few years, he added. (MTI)
