The European Commission approved the use of new GMOs
The European Commission approved the food and feed industrial use of ten new genetically modified organism (GMO) plant on Friday.
In addition, the Board also extended the authorization of seven previously released GMOs. The EU-wide license does not allow public production in either case.
Such organisms are called “genetically modified organisms” (GMOs). Food and feed which contain or consist of such GMOs, or are produced from GMOs, are called “genetically modified (GM) food or feed”. (Konsiczky Zoltán, MTI)
