A new weapon against labour shortages: tens of thousands of parents with young children can be brought into the labour market by maternity cooperatives
The July amendment to the Co-operatives Act opens the way for tens of thousands of mothers – and fathers – with young children to work on flexible terms in addition to raising children. The legislation allows parents who stay at home with young children to form a cooperative or enter a cooperative, which gives them more flexible conditions than the general labour law limits. The Hungarian-owned WHC Group, which deals with recruitment, hiring and recruitment, among others, recently launched its own maternity cooperative
