Turizmus.com: BGYH does not plan to close the baths in Budapest
Budapest Gyógyfürdői és Hévizei Zrt. (BGYH) does not plan to close the spas in Budapest, they are preparing for the winter with an energy crisis scenario and will do everything they can to ensure that they do not have to close a single spa due to high energy prices, wrote Turizmus.com in an article on Tuesday.

The utility demon also threatens the baths
CEO Ildikó Szűts told the portal: they have been through almost ten very successful months, fortunately the recovery of guest traffic after the coronavirus was much faster than they expected. When the war in Ukraine started, there was some stagnation, he said.
Based on the latest data from October, Budapest spas are at 80-85 percent of the number of guests in the first ten months of 2019 compared to the year before the epidemic. At the same time, the sales revenue is at around 110 percent, which was helped by the fact that prices were raised twice in spas visited by foreigners.
The spas use district heating, electricity and natural gas. The public procurement for natural gas was announced in June, but in the end the only bidder was MVM Next, which adjusted its prices to the world market price at the time. In the end, they received a price level of HUF 1,336/cubic meter (without VAT). He said: the price may seem high, but during that period he did not receive countless large spa offers from service providers.
