There is still no trend change in domestic tourism

According to the Central Statistical Office; between January and September 2009, the number of foreign and domestic guests decreased by 11 and 6 percent, compared to the same period the previous year.

The commercial  accomodiation sales declined by 9 percent in September, on current prices – just like in the first eight month of the year, lower guest numbers were registered, than in 2008. The accommodation services market is characterized by decline since the beginning of 2009; the trend change in domestic tourism not yet occurred.
Between January and September of 2009, 2512 thousand foreign guests had 7320 thousands guest nights. The two datas both decreased by 11 percent, compared to the same period of 2008.
